Styling Your Body… Ageless Style LINKUP

“Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their days off that are the most intriguing.” —Alexander Wang

Hello nzuri!

Happy Labor Day, hopefully you had a wonderful three day weekend. Today’s theme for Ageless Style LINKUP is how to style your body, this month’s theme was chosen by Jennie.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been top heavy and athletically built. The only issues I’d run into were certain blouses that were either too revealing, snug or boots that wouldn’t fit over my calves; this was at any weight size. Other than those areas, I honestly could dress as I’ve pleased. Also, as far back as I can remember, my mother always complimented me on my style and wardrobes. I believe this gave me the confidence to not focus so much on those things I’d mentioned; even when others did.

My mom and grandmother would always say “when you get older, you’re going to love your legs”. It’s funny to think about that now because when I entered my teen years there were more notices that made me a little uncomfortable but in my twenties, I realized they were right! I’ve told my daughters the same thing as they both have my body type, “you’ll love your legs as you get older”, they always giggle.

My general rule of thumb is if the blouse is loose on bottom that’s a win because I like comfort yet I love a low cut. I’ve always liked mini skirts and fitted pants, they usually show my legs off well and that hasn’t changed, even at 47.

To be honest with you, I say dress the way you feel, how can you go wrong. In these days and times one should just be comfortable in their skin, no matter what you’re wearing.

Now, let’s go over to the other ladies blog and get their advise on styling your body type. Also, don’t forget to LINKUP…

Until next time nzuri, thanks for stopping by and remember to style you unapologetically…
