Restyled Wednesday: Aging…

“Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.” Samuel Ullman

Hello nzuri!

The day after my born day and I feel grateful and so blessed! I had planned a grand photo shoot but it gave way to me just relaxing and enjoying a “me” day!

Later this month I will share more leading up to my birthday.

Aging is not ‘lost youth’ but a new stage of opportunity and strength.” Betty Friedan

“There are six myths about old age:

1. That it’s a disease, a disaster.

2. That we are mindless.

3. That we are sexless.

4. That we are useless.

5. That we are powerless.

6. That we are all alike.” —Maggie Kuhn

Yes, just myths. I know this quote might be speaking to an older group of individuals but if you ask anyone in there 20’s these days, they might equat my age to those ideas as well.

I think about my 20’s and 30’s how I was a little rough around the edges, yet I don’t dwell on them for long. Those years prepared me for my 40’s I believe: I am vibrant, sharper, calmer and to my knowledge healthy. Are there some days that are challeging? Yes, but I had those days in my 20’s and 30’s as well!

I say, love who you are today, because tomorrow is questionable.

Me at 47! It’s all good…

Until next time my nzuri, thanks for stopping over and keep styling who, YOU!
