Poncho Love…

Wealth, if you use it, comes to an end; learning, if you use it, increases. ~ Swahili proverb

Hello nzuri!

Learning, so that I can increase my wealth and the use of it…

Sharing my poncho love with you today, it is another of my favorites for fall attire. I believe there is a total of 6 ponchos in my wardrobe and I wear them out during this lovely season. I also added a new one this fall, which is featured below as well. Can you ever have too many? The sales lady and I both asked this question.

They all range in pricing and I’ve been lucky enough to have been gifted a couple that are really quality pieces. I have a black and silver one that was gifted from an auntie, whom is no longer here with us, I cherish that one the most.

The featured grey poncho is over 2 years old, purchased from a local store called City Trends. It’s a little on the lighter side than I’d like, yet when I throw on my chunky scarf the children gave me one Christmas, its rather warm. I really liked pairing it with my green corduroy pants, nice pop of color.

Like I’d state above, this plaid poncho was added to my wardrobe recently, it so happened I was waiting for my mother to finish some test at the hospital and wondered in the gift shop. So many ponchos were available to me, I was in knitted heaven with choices. Yet, this one stood out the most as it’s so cozy, chic and reversible!! Imagined my surprise when I saw the black and white strips on the inside; happiness, pure happiness. The detailed buttons on the shoulder and the fringe at the bottom really create a more interesting statement.

Do you get happy when you’ve found a really nice piece to add to your wardrobe collection?

So, I’ve shared my love of plaids and now ponchos for fall weather, what are your favorites to wear during this season? I’d like to know…

Until next time nzuri, thank you for stopping by; now go STYLE you!

Yes, I do get happy when I find a new piece to add to my wardrobe ❤ I too love ponchos but living in Orlando I don’t really get to wear them. Ugh. I love the plaid one. You always look fantastic ❤🦋🌻

Hey doll! I love both of your ponchos and have one of my own I am donating to Candlelighters. I want to love it so much but it goes across my shoulders and has no arm holes or way to fasten it to keep it on. I used a brooch with it last week but it was all over the place. Almost completely turned around backwards on me at times. Wish it either had a hole for my head or arm holes.

My favorite is the gray one. I just like that it is somewhat fitted. And I like that chunky knit. The plaid is lovely, too! And I have heard several times that hospital gift shops have the best clothes! Thankfully, I only visit one hospital semi-regularly. Have never checked out the gift shop but if I am there again, I will!

Thanks for plugging the soup recipe swap. It’s going to be GREAT!

Hi Leslie, yes I’ve encountered the poncho struggle on a couple that just wouldn’t lay the way I wanted, now try them on in the store and walk around with it for a minute to see how it shifts, even move my arms around a bit. I know that’s too much yet I don’t like returning things to much as I’ll end up giving it away OR IT my closet forever!
Yes on the hospital gift shops! The one I went to is in my neighboring town, the manager told me she runs two others and she orders all the stuff herself, I’ll be visiting the shop again 🤗 I’m excited about the soup recipe swap, looking forward to seeing all the delicious food and gaining new recipe ideas! Thanks for coming over Leslie

Oh! I didn’t even notice that the plaid one was reversible. I love that. And I love, love, love the gray poncho and how you’ve styled it. It’s so chic yet comfortable and classy.

Loooooove ponchos. I know people are like they’re so seventies, but that’s exactly why I love them. The retro feel, the comfort {our favorite word}, and just the ease of wear. Like you, I like the chunkier knit ones because cozy.

YES! That’s what I love about them, the retro, seventies feel and I don’t believe they ever go out of style. Thanks Daenel for feeling the poncho love🤜🏾🤣
