Being Still…

Seek patience and passion in equal amounts. Patience alone will not build the temple. Passion alone will destroy its walls.

-Maya Angelou

Hello nzuri!

Sometimes it’s hard for me to be still and just BE! I seem to have so many thoughts and ideas fluttering through my head that it can be unsettling at times. My oldest daughter and I would sit around and laugh about how RANDOM we both were with our thoughts, lol, on days like these I miss those discussions the most.

Today I just wanted to be, so after work and then picking babygirl up from school we headed to eat, she picked Tuesdays for eat out “treat day”. She picked a spot and we briefly sat out on the patio.

It was good to just be still with my little one, she said it was a good day too; sunny and breezy. I agreed to pictures if we could sit for them, she then snapped away; she let me only take one of her thou😔

After that, we decided to head home, we ate without conversation which is very rare for her and I, as she is a LITTLE ME! Chatty… But, I think she needed some quiet time as well, so we just sat in our moment together.

This was a beautiful day…

Do you have these moments nzuri? I’d love to hear about it…

Until next time, thank you for stopping by my corner of the internet… Take care of YOU.

This is so cute. You guys look so beautiful. I completely understand my thoughts have thoughts. I am an over thinker, so when I get off of work, that’s my downtime, i really just want to relax but it’s hard…As women I just think it’s in our DNA

Oh my word! Your daughter looks so much like you!!! I hadn’t noticed before but in this picture? Yes!!

I like to sit and be still too. Sometimes my brain goes a mile a minute, especially when it’s time for bed, so I’m trying to relish the quiet moments when they happen.

Lol, I believe out of all 3 children, she resembles me the most as well; SHE HAS MY PERSONALITY too! I have the same thing that happens during bedroom, takes me time to just relax. I want to start meditating, maybe it’ll work🤔lol, thanks for coming by my friend

Oh yes! Definitely needs moments to just ‘be’. I am an introvert on the inside so I recharge by having quiet time by myself. It sounds as if you did the right thing and what a lovely afternoon it turned out to be!!

Shugunna, I was drawn to your post at #SpreadTheKindness by that simple title, Being Still. Such a beautiful quote by Maya Angelou. I’m not very chatty, but my mind IS! I love it that you and your lovely daughter just enjoyed the quiet together. That’s very special.
