The Purple Girl!

I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it. Alice walker, The Color Purple

Hello nzuri!

About a month ago, we’d met up with my auntie whom had come in from out of town and on our route home we saw this beautiful purple girl. No, not a field of purple but on a southside of Chicago brick wall, this immediately reminded me of the qoute above from the movie “The Color Purple”. The ladies in the mural look so glamorous and the color purple is so vibrant, the artist managed to give an illusion of colors leaping off the bricked wall with style and elegance; simply nzuri!

So, I had to stop and get a picture for the blog, just so happened I was wearing a purple blouse that day; how ironic. Babygirl was blown away as well, so her and my mom joined in on some of the pictures.

Babygirl said the umbrella would add to the photo, I now agree; she has an eye for props in our photos. Although we debate on them, ALOT, I really loved the umbrella incorporated the way she did it!!

This particular girl reminds me of my girls, she gives the energy of strength and courage. I see in her eyes my oldest beautiful gaze and the youngest intense stance. Both strong in every aspect.
My mom, babygirl and another favorite auntie, Mrs. Ruby Carter-Pike; can you believe she’s 73? Awesomeness right!

I know this was a short post, I’m still recovering from vacation and I have a pile of work upon my return; but it’s all good.

Tell me, what do you think of the mural?

Until the next time nzuri, thank you for stopping by my corner of the internet! Take Care…
