Peaches and Cream…

Fashion should be a form of escapism, and not a form of imprisonment. Alexander McQueen

Hello nzuri!

Today’s OOTD was inspired by Style Imitating Art (#styleimitatingart from this weeks curator Daenel with Living Outside The Stacks @ the picture and reference below were also provided from Daenel’s blog as well)

GREGORY, JAMES J.H., & SONS. 1896. CATALOGUE OF HOME GROWN SEEDS no. 1896, 1897, 1898 (DAMAGED), 1899, 1900, MARBLEHEAD MA. {from The Smithsonian Libraries, no copyright}

When I initially saw the art piece my immediate thought was RED, but when I took a 2nd glance there was a more calming sence of growth; like spring. The colors remind me of the beautiful intention of what’s to come after all the rain; which is natures warm and vibrant colors!

So, my take on this art is the inevitable SPRING, leading to my peaches and cream with a pop of color in my shoes!

My dolman peach sweater is from New York and Company (#iamnyandco), there are little slivers of glitter in the seams; very feminine. I’d first seen the sweater on their website, the sweater appeared to hang off the shoulder which is what initially attracted me to the item; not the case as you can see yet I still like the fit.

The the cream gaucho pants (old) are from the Limited, I’ve had these for years; one of my favorite pieces.

Now, my lovely flower sandal heels were purchased from Jcpenney. I must tell you, when I first saw them there was a hard NO in my mind, then I tried them on and as you can see; the rest is history!!

I can’t wait to pair these shoes with other items this summer…

I must say, I really enjoyed taking part in this interpretation of Style Imitating Art, it gets you thinking of all the creative peices you can put together!! I thought of pink, peach, cream and blue but if you hop over to you’ll see so many other different takes on this art with Salazar {14 Shades of Gray} and Kim {Fierce Fashion Blog}; it’s all pretty cool!

Baby girl taking my pictures again, she keeps me laughing!

What do think and what colors stood out to you in the seed/art packet? I’d like to know…

Until next time nzuri, thanks for coming over to my corner of the internet!
